Protected Disclosures and the Data Protection Officer
This research guidance paper examines the role of the Data Protection Officer in respect of the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 and the implications of Protected Disclosures in the context of the Data Protection Officer’s tasks and functions under the GDPR and Part 5 of the Data Protection Act 2018.
It also looks briefly at the implications of the EU Whistleblower Directive in the context of the obligations of organisations and Data Protection Officers and the considerations organisations will need to have when aligning the requirements of EU law in their day to day operations.
