Changing thinking
Part of the Castlebridge mission is to “change how people think about information”. To that end, we have been at the forefront of information management training in Ireland for a number of years, but for most of that we have worked in-house or through partners to help us get our content and frameworks to the widest audience.
For example, Castlebridge continues to roll out public and in-house courses for Irish Public Sector organisations through our partner Public Affairs Ireland. These courses have been running for a number of years now, and are highly rated. Up coming courses include:
- 13 April – Privacy Impact Assessments – Castlebridge will teach a flexibile and scalable methodology to gather and assess privacy impacts for projects or processes.
- 17th & 18th April Data Protection for Law Enforcement – Daragh O Brien teaches an indepth overview course looking at the implications and impacts of the Data Protection Directive for Law Enforcement and the relevant sections of the Data Protection Bill 2018
- 25th/26th April – GDPR Essentials – Castlebridge give learners a deep-dive introduction into the basics of GDPR and obligations under the legislation.
- 1st & 8th May – GDPR Advanced – this course looks at GDPR from the perspective of Data Governance, Change Management, and Project planning to help delegates understand more the role of the DPO and the approaches to executing a sustainable data privacy governance framework in their organisation
We also continue our collaboration with the Law Society of Ireland, teaching on and assessing their Certificate in Data Protection Law and Practice. Our MD, Daragh O Brien, recently spoke at the opening lecture for the Spring 2018 intake on this certificate.
We are also involved in education work with UCD School of Law and other organisations nationally and internationally, particularly in emerging areas such as Information Ethics.
